Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. in Fort Payne, Alabama seeks a Metallurgist to provide materials engineering and metallurgical support for turbine generator components, and to assist multiple manufacturing processes with onsite technical support for raw materials.

You will develop testing protocols, collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams to ensure material compliance and reliable production. Travel about 20% and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Materials Engineering with a focus on Metallurgy.
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and curiosity about materials in power generation equipment.
  • Ability to travel ~20% and work overtime as needed.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for manufacturing processes, including material testing and evaluation.
  • Analyze data and communicate trends, risks, and insights.
  • Deliver hands-on factory support for materials and processes.
  • Communicate and help implement engineering requirements in manufacturing.
  • Prepare analyses of test data related to material and process quality.
  • Serve as a technical interface with customers regarding material performance.
  • Act as onsite technical resource for the back-office development team.
