Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking an experienced Materials & Failure Analysis Engineer to advance reliability of advanced gas turbine components. You will investigate material degradation and root causes, and provide technical recommendations impacting fleet operation, repairs, and product development.

You will apply metallurgy, coatings, and failure analysis to solve high‑temperature material challenges, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to improve durability and performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years in materials engineering, metallurgy, failure analysis, or materials characterization required.
  • Hands-on experience investigating metallic component failures and degradation.
  • Strong understanding of superalloys, stainless steels, coatings, and heat treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead failure analysis and RCA for gas turbine components.
  • Perform advanced materials characterization and fracture investigations.
  • Serve as technical expert in materials science and coatings including TBCs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, service engineering, suppliers, and customers on reliability initiatives.
