Job summary
Siemens Energy is seeking a Metallurgist to provide materials engineering support for turbine generator components at our Fort Payne, Alabama facility. You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams to ensure materials meet engineering requirements and support safe, reliable production.
Responsibilities include hands-on material testing, data analysis, and implementing engineering requirements on the shop floor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science or Materials Engineering with a focus on Metallurgy.
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and curiosity about materials used in power generation equipment.
- Willingness to travel ~20% and to work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support for manufacturing processes, including material testing and evaluations.
- Analyze data and communicate trends, risks, and insights.
- Deliver hands-on factory support for existing and new materials and processes.
- Communicate and help implement engineering requirements within manufacturing.
