Job summary

MPI is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead standardised processes in metals, drive CPIs and support customers and internal teams from the shop floor to engineering.

You'll review docs, analyze root causes, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with production and maintenance to improve safety, quality, and throughput; with exposure to heat treating, welding, laser cutting, stamping or forging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years of metals experience.
• Experience in metals manufacturing, heat treating, welding, laser cutting, stamping and forging.
• Experience developing and improving standard manufacturing processes and work instructions.
• Proven root cause analysis and corrective-action experience.
• Knowledge of quality systems and customer specifications.
• Experience supporting shop floor production teams.
• Strong Lean Six Sigma and statistical analysis background.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain standardised manufacturing processes, introducing controlled improvements as needed.
• Review production documentation and work instructions to ensure requirements are accurate, complete, and clearly communicated.
• Evaluate customer requirements and determine manufacturing feasibility based on operational capabilities.
• Provide technical support to customers, production teams, quality teams, and other internal stakeholders.
• Review customer and industry specifications to ensure compliance with manufacturing capabilities and quality standards.
• Investigate non-conforming products, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support production teams in meeting customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the development, review, and continuous improvement of manufacturing procedures and process documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Investigate customer concerns and support root-cause analysis and resolution efforts.
• Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams and external suppliers to support material and process requirements.
• Monitor and maintain critical process controls and equipment standards.
• Support capital improvement projects aimed at increasing operational capabilities and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to optimize equipment utilization and manufacturing throughput.
