Job summary

ANSER is seeking a Metallurgy Analyst to support the IBAS program, evaluating critical minerals and materials and advising investment decisions. You will engage industry, monitor projects, and prepare strategic briefs for senior leadership in a high-tempo, collaborative environment.

Role involves site visits or telework within the National Capital Region, with a need for clear communications and coordination across DoD and interagency partners.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in mineral processing, production, science, or technology analysis.
• Understanding of or experience in critical and strategic materials/minerals, mineralogy, mineral exploration, or geology.
• Demonstrated analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex industrial base issues into clear written reports and oral presentations for senior leadership.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-tempo, team-oriented environment and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with DoD, interagency partners, and military services to identify critical minerals and materials requirements and develop strategies to mitigate industrial base risks.
• Support development, management, and execution of an annual budget exceeding $1 billion.
• Support development and evaluation of industry project calls to advance technical capabilities from prototype to production.
• Evaluate proposed projects for technical, programmatic, and acquisition feasibility and recommend investment and prototyping efforts.
• Monitor cost, schedule, performance, and technical progress across assigned projects; report to leadership.
• Represent government interests in meetings with industry, government, and stakeholders; document outcomes and follow-up.
