Arconic in Davenport, IA is seeking a Metallurgical Technician to support quality performance on skin sheet, aerospace, and automotive sheet lines. You will collaborate with plant production and quality teams to ensure high-quality product performance and guide metallurgical decisions on a daily basis.

The role involves experimental studies, data collection and analysis, calibration of testing equipment, and applying statistical methods to drive process improvements.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical expertise to identify, solve and implement solutions to quality problems within a specific area of the plant/assignment.
• Provide metallurgical practices and decisions on a day-to-day basis, evaluate and control product quality and provide technical guidance and training.
• Participate in experimental studies including planning, data collection, data analysis, reporting results, and implementing conclusions.
• Oversee or perform calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
• Understand and use basic computer skills and programs.
• Understand and use basic control charting skills and statistical data analysis language.
• Provide technical expertise relating to problem solving, developing, and controlling quality issues; coordinate in design of new technical processes/equipment when needed.

Descripción del empleo

The role of the Metallurgical Technician is to ensure the quality performance of processes which are important to product a high-quality product mix through Davenport’s skin sheet, aerospace, and automotive sheet lines. This position will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to include; plant production management team, plant quality team, amongst others.

The Metallurgical Technician role has the following objectives:

• Provide technical expertise to identify, solve and implement solutions to quality problems associated within a specific area of the plant/assignment.
• Provide metallurgical practices and decisions on a day-to-day basis, evaluate and control product quality and provide technical guidance and training.
• Participate in experimental studies which may include planning, conducting data collection, data analysis reporting of the results, and implementation of the conclusion reaches.
• Oversee or perform calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
• Understand and use basic computer skills and programs.
• Understand and use basic control charting skills and understanding of statistical data analysis language.
• Provide technical expertise relating to problem solving, developing, and controlling quality issues. When situations arise, help to coordinate in design of developments of new technical processes/equipment
