Job summary

Barrick Gold Corporation seeks a Metallurgical Technician to support the Nevada Gold Mines Carlin Met Lab, performing tests for quality control and improvements in processing facilities including the mill and heap leach. The role reports to the Metallurgical Supervisor and requires sample preparation, data reporting, and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include executing sampling plans in lab and process settings, maintaining equipment, stocking supplies, and assisting in evaluating

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic principles and methods used in metallurgical, laboratory and processing analyses preferred.
• Ability to collect samples, process and accurately report on results required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist in metallurgical studies by executing sampling plans, preparing, and analyzing samples both in a lab and process plant setting.
• Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment used in the process facility.
• Ordering and stocking of process laboratory supplies.
• Assist in reviewing new or enhanced metallurgical testing equipment or protocols.
• Assist in evaluating and administering contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
• Develops and maintains an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations applicable to area of assignment.
• Performs other duties as required.
