Job summary

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division seeks a Materials Lab Technician in Euclid, OH to conduct metallurgical and chemical lab testing in support of Eaton-Euclid manufacturing and external sales.

Responsibilities include preparing samples, evaluating test specimens, performing hardness tests, and documenting results; maintaining equipment and assisting with process troubleshooting. Strong attention to detail and ability to learn new lab procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a laboratory, manufacturing or testing environment.
• U.S. person required for export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metallographic specimens (sectioning, mounting and polishing).
• Evaluate specimens per test procedures (case depth, IGA, grain size, weld evaluation).
• Perform hardness testing (Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, Knoop).
• Assist with SEM analysis and mechanical testing as needed.
• Document results and prepare test reports.
• Maintain lab equipment and environment.
• Communicate with supervision and sales clearly and tactfully.
• Assist with manufacturing process troubleshooting and process control.
• Review industry specifications related to lab testing.
