Caterpillar’s Advanced Materials Technology Department seeks an experienced Metallurgical Engineering Manager to lead a large, multidisciplinary materials engineering organization supporting machines, engines, components, and manufacturing operations.

This leadership role oversees a machine-focused product support team of engineers and contract technicians located in Mossville, Illinois, and Lafayette, Indiana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in materials science, metallurgy, or a related field.
• Strong strategic planning, from short- to long-term horizons.
• Experience leading engineering teams in heavy equipment or manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of ferrous metallurgy and processing methods.
• Proven ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to influence across functions and sites.

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop materials engineering talent to build depth and leadership.
• Provide technical leadership for analyses, investigations, and lab testing.
• Oversee Metallurgical Lab for CPI, NPI, and PPAP activities.
• Partner with internal clients to set service requirements and priorities.
• Develop new opportunities for materials engineering services across Caterpillar.
• Build a high-performing org with focus on safety, engineering excellence, and growth.
• Lead across boundaries, communicating with employees to executive management.
