Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Massachusetts seeks an experienced metallurgy/engineering leader to guide the metallurgical department and supervise a team of specialists.

You will drive process improvements, ensure products meet customer specifications, and work with operations and planning to optimize cost and throughput. A BS in metallurgy/materials engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in metallurgy/material engineering with 10 years or more in metal melting, fabrication, or forging.
• Knowledge of steels, titanium, and/or nickel-based alloys preferred.
• Managerial expertise with metallurgists and technicians.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Define engineering capabilities and ensure product meets customer requirements.
• Ensure customer approvals and fixed practice requirements are followed.
• Optimize processes for cost and operational efficiency.
• Plan DoEs (DOE's) and MPE's to improve process capability.
• Lead metallurgists and educate production personnel in metallurgical/QA requirements.
• Develop relationships with customers and conduct visits/audits to address actions.
