Job summary

ATI is currently seeking a Metallurgical Engineer (Engineer II) at our Irvine, CA location. The engineer develops materials applications, forged product and manufacturing related technologies using fundamentals of engineering and materials science, and reviews customer inquiries to ensure ATI can meet customer requirements.

You will collaborate on cross-functional teams with sales, manufacturing and quality assurance to troubleshoot issues, plan technology assessment programs, and support market

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing metallurgical guidance using materials science fundamentals for process design and production execution.
• Plan and work on technology assessment and development programs to improve productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal teams to qualify new materials and improve forged components.
• Assist in planning production-type projects under commercial or governmental contracts.
• Coordinate project deliverables across locations and report progress to leadership.
• Present progress to senior leadership and ensure timely efforts within budget.
• Support sales, engineering, and manufacturing with metallurgical expertise during visits and meetings.
