Job summary

Anomatic is seeking a production operator to oversee the anodizing/metalizing process on the production floor. The role requires color management, process monitoring, and hands-on troubleshooting to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

You will train and support Line Operators, enforce safety and housekeeping standards, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and standard work.

Qualifications

  • Must have anodizing experience and knowledge of chemical processing.
  • Ability to read job cards and ensure product specs are met.
  • Strong maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, and hand tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust color/tinting to meet color standards.
  • Monitor water usage and conserve wherever possible.
  • Start the Anodizing lines in the absence of Manager.
  • Assist in training Line Operators using Training Within Industry (TWI).
  • Communicate with Line Operators about operating conditions and changes.
  • Ensure gauging and coating checks align with job cards and specs.
  • Operate all processes including Etch, In-Line degreasing, Bright dipping.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

This production floor position is responsible for ensuring efficient operation of the anodizing/metalizing process within the facility. Monitors all steps in the proprietary anodizing process, including the conveyor belt system, racks, chemicals/dyes, and product consistency and quality. Leads the activities of other employees through technical knowledge and sound decision-making abilities in order to support product quality and ensure customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Continuously monitor the anodizing/metalizing process to ensure that the product quality meets or exceeds customer requirements.
  • Able to make color/tinting changes to match color standard.
  • Monitor water usage and conserve wherever possible.
  • Must be able to start the Anodizing lines in the absence of Manager
  • Ensure the Process Manager's instructions and schedule requirements are fulfilled.
  • Assist in the training of new Line Operators utilizing Training Within Industry (TWI) and act as a resource for technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Communicate with the Line Operators on operating conditions, dye mixture, special problems, etc., that occur during the shift. Communicate any schedule changes or job changes as appropriate.
  • Ensure Line Operators are doing all proper gauging and coating checks, and that all jobs are being run according to job card specifications and running at specified rate.
  • Able to run all of the different processes/jobs including Etch, In-Line degreasing, Bright dipping, etc.
  • May substitute for Line Operators on occasion when necessary.
  • Attend and contribute to departmental and quality meetings.
  • Make necessary repairs on the belt and conduct belt changes.
  • Properly complete required paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean line, free of clutter. Store equipment properly.
  • Lead Operators in Continuous Improvement Programs such as Standard Work, 5S, Problem Solving, etc.
  • Maintain, properly store, and wear appropriate safety equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to see and differentiate between colors and shades of colors to ensure finished product meets approved product specification standards for the customer.
  • Demonstrated anodizing experience and in-depth knowledge of chemical processing
  • Solid maintenance and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience w/ hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and hand held spot welder
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principals
  • Ability to successfully complete all safety-related training requirements, including: forklift operations, fire extinguisher operation, general PPE training, temperature stress training, and all other requirements as necessary
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, push/ pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice
  • Degree in chemistry or related discipline a plus
  • Exemplary attendance is required.
