Job summary

TurbineAero is seeking a Flame Spray Operator in Tempe, AZ to apply thermal coatings on a production line in a high-volume environment. You will set up, adjust, and clean the flame spray equipment to ensure consistent coating quality.

Qualifications include achieving 3 of 5 process certifications (Plasma, Thermal Spray, Metal Spray) and strong analytical skills. A high school diploma or GED with relevant certifications is required.

Qualifications

• Must become certified in 3 of 5 following processes: Plasma, Thermal Spray, Metal Spray.
• Candidate must show mechanical and technical skill of Flame Spray.
• Candidate must determine the appropriate OIS & PCR required to process parts.
• Must demonstrate ability to coat an abradable coating to a customer product.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with certifications.

Responsibilities

• Apply thermal coatings on a production basis in a high-volume environment.
• Set-up, adjust, and clean equipment used in flame spray operations.
• Maintain conformance to safety practices (AMTI, EPA, OSHA).
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and equipment.
• Follow work instructions and meet quality and timeliness targets.

Description

Primary responsibilities focus upon the Operator’s ability to apply Thermal Coatings on a production basis in a high-volume environment. The Flame Spray Operator must be able to set-up adjust, and clean equipment used relation to flame spray operations.

Requirements

• Must become certified in 3 of 5 following processes: Plasma, Thermal Spray, Metal Spray.
• Candidate must show mechanical and technical skill of Flame Spray
• Candidate must be able to determine the appropriate OIS & PCR required to process any customer parts.
• Must demonstrate the ability to successfully coat an abradable coating to a customer product.
• Use of all measuring equipment (Spring calipers, Dial calipers, Micrometers, Vernier calipers and comparator stand.
• Perform any other duties designated by Department Manager. Measured by the quality of results and timeliness of action taken.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices as measured by the cleanliness of equipment, work area and the organization or work areas.
• Maintain conformance to AMTI, EPA, and OSHA safe practices.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience with certifications.
• Must possess strong analytical skills.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience with certifications.
