Job summary

Hawkeye Metal Spinning is seeking a manufacturing associate to operate metal spinning machines and ensure parts meet specifications. You will follow documented processes, maintain records in ERP and Shop Traveler, and coordinate with the lead and spinner on daily production targets.

The role emphasizes safety, 5S, and adherence to quality standards, with overtime as needed in a manufacturing setting. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• Manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check with lead on machine and job assignment.
• Discuss with current spinner about machine performance and difficulties.
• Produce parts on metal spinning machines per specifications and requirements.
• Unload and package parts according to Hawkeye Metal Spinning standards and customer requirements.
• Complete accurate daily records for every job in Shop Travelers and ERP system.
• Follow Hawkeye Metal Spinning documentation (Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, blueprints).
• Inform quality control and shift supervisor of problems or concerns with parts.
• Maintain quality and perform inspections per Hawkeye Metal Spinning standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report abnormal conditions immediately.
• Maintain clean, 5S work area and safety compliance.
• Document all tasks and duties; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Check with designated lead person on machine assignment and job assignment.
• Discuss with current metal spinner from preceding shift about the machine’s performance and any difficulties encountered during the shift.
• Produce parts on metal spinning machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
• Unload and package parts according to Hawkeye Metal Spinning standards and customer requirements.
• Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
• Follow instructions from all Hawkeye Metal Spinning documentation, including Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
• Inform quality control, shift supervisor/lead person of any problems, or concerns with parts.
• Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections in accordance with the Hawkeye Metal Spinning standards.
• Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead immediately.
• Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all 5S procedures.
• Conduct all tasks and behaviors in a safe manner and comply with all Hawkeye Metal Spinning Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the Hawkeye Metal Spinning Safety Manual.
• Maintain all required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• A willingness to learn and be trained on the Hawkeye Metal Spinning manufacturing process
• General skills with hand and power tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to routinely bend and squat
• Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to repetitively grasp
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Working Conditions:

This is a safety-sensitive position. The work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes.
