Job summary

Skyline Products, Inc. is seeking a Metal Prep Technician to operate shop cutting, CNC equipment, and grinding tools to prep raw metal materials according to blueprints and work orders. This role ensures accurate sizing and clean edges before materials move to welding or assembly.

The position requires 0-2 years in a metal shop, strong measurement skills, and strict adherence to safety procedures. Day shift with a starting hourly rate of $20.00–$24.00, full-time hours, and a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Read basic shop drawings, cut lists, and blueprints.
• Read a tape measure to 1/16" or 1/32" with high precision.
• Interpret welding symbols, dimensions, and cut lists.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate shop cutting equipment and CNC cutters to dimension raw stock.
• Grind, deburr and finish edges using grinders and grinders.
• Read blueprints and verify measurements against drawings.
• Sort, stack, and move raw materials and cut parts safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow OSHA guidelines.
• Inspect parts for accurate dimensions before welding or assembly.
