Job summary

Advantage Manufacturing of Colorado Springs is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist I to turn prints into precise components on our manufacturing floor in Colorado Springs. You will operate CNC mills and lathes, interpret blueprints, and set up complex jobs.

The role includes first-article inspections, mentoring junior machinists, and collaborating with engineering to improve processes. Expect a teamwork-driven environment with safety and 5S standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational machining training preferred.
• 2–4 years of CNC machine operation experience.
• Proficient blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
• Team player who can mentor junior machinists effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills/lathes to meet blueprint and specification requirements.
• Execute complex machine setups using provided setup sheets and tool lists.
• Interpret drawings and blueprints to determine optimal machining approach.
• Run manual machines (mills, lathes, drill presses, band saw) for secondary operations.
• Perform first‑article and routine in‑process inspections with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot issues; apply corrective actions to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve processes for quality and efficiency.
• Mentor CNC Machinist I team members; foster a learning culture.
• Complete routine maintenance; uphold safety policies and 5S standards.
• Escalate equipment/production concerns quickly and clearly.
• Document production, material usage, and inspection data with accuracy.

Schedule & environment

• Full‑time with standard shift hours; overtime may be required to meet production demand.
• Manufacturing floor environment with active machinery and production noise.
• Regular standing, repetitive motions, and lifting up to 30 lbs for extended periods.

Compensation & benefits

• $22.00–$30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
• Shared‑cost health care, paid holidays, and paid time off.
