Skana Aluminum Company in Manitowoc, WI is hiring a Metal Packer to ensure coils and slabs leave the plant safely packaged and documented. You will inspect surface quality, wrap and label products, prepare packaging materials, and record counts for shipping.

The role requires attention to detail, safety focus, and collaboration with production and shipping teams. Forklift experience or training is required or provided.

Responsibilities

• Inspect aluminum products for surface quality, proper dimensions, and packaging readiness.
• Safely wrap, strap, and label finished coils and slabs according to customer specifications and company guidelines.
• Prepare packaging materials, including protective wraps, corner boards, skids, and strapping systems.
• Accurately record product counts, sizes, and packaging details for inventory and shipping documentation.
• Coordinate with production and shipping teams to prioritize packaging schedules and meet delivery deadlines.
• Operate a forklift to move finished products to storage or loading areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Identify and promptly report product defects, safety hazards, or equipment issues.
• Follow all company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in cross-training as needed.
