Job summary

United Precision Corporation in Washington state is seeking a skilled Sandblaster/Painter to prepare metal parts for coating and finishing, removing rust, mill scale, and contaminants while preserving dimensional integrity.

This on-site, full-time role requires SSPC/AMPP C7 and/or C12 certifications, a high school diploma, and at least 2 years of abrasive blasting and coating experience; familiarity with masking and coating application is essential.

Qualifications

• SSPC/AMPP C7 and/or C12 certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in sandblasting/painting preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of abrasive blasting on metal components and fabricated assemblies.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience applying industrial or protective coatings by brush, roller, and/or spray.
• Knowledge of abrasives, substrate condition, surface cleanliness and profile, and dust/debris control.

Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting on fabricated metal components per project specifications and SSPC/NACE standards.
• Remove rust, mill scale, oxidation, paint, coatings, and other contaminants from metal surfaces.
• Prepare metal parts and assemblies for painting, plating, and other protective finishes.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain abrasive blasting equipment and related systems.
• Inspect blasted components to verify cleanliness, surface profile, and compliance with requirements.
• Mask and protect areas to prevent overspray and damage during coating operations.
• Monitor coating inventory and calculate consumables needs for production load.
• Complete production and quality logs and documentation.
