Job summary

Markent Personnel, Inc. is seeking a Fabricator – Machine Operator in Harlan, Iowa to set up, adjust, and operate fabrication equipment. You will produce metal components according to blueprints and work orders, while maintaining safety, quality standards, and accurate production records.

The role requires reading drawings, using calipers and micrometers, and a solid grasp of basic math. Welding experience is a plus. This is an on-site position with standard fabrication shift expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 1–2 years of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills including dimensions, quantities, metric conversions, algebra, and geometry.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, diligence, and time management skills.
• Welding experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication equipment, including press brakes, rollers, punch presses, sanders, drills, grinders, shears, saws, and other fabrication machinery.
• Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, rules, squares, angle gages, and height gages.
• Practice the highest degree of safety when performing essential duties of his position.
• Read and interpret parts drawings, process routings, and production requirement information.
