Bio Fab Technologies is a custom stainless-steel fabricator that manufactures equipment for the Food and Pharmaceutical industries. As part of our growth, we are seeking a Metal Fabricator to join our team.

Summary:

The role involves custom fabricating sheet metal parts using brake press forming, rolling, and saw-cutting. These parts are used either as standalone components or as part of larger assemblies.

Inputs to the Position:

• Cut parts from the Laser Department
• Interpret design/fabrication prints and sketches from Designer/Engineer/Project Manager
• Handle raw materials such as sheet metal, bar stock, tubing, and pipe

Tools Required:

Continuous use of:

• Accu Press Brake
• Fork Truck
• Measuring tools (Tape Measure, Vernier Caliper, Protractor, Combination Square)
• Rubber Mallet
• Davi Roller
• Seam Welder
• Overhead Crane

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Operate brake press to bend metal according to print specifications, adjusting settings as needed
• Operate band saws to cut materials, verifying dimensions and deburring parts
• Operate rollers to achieve specified radii, verifying shapes and adjusting as necessary
• Operate overhead and jig cranes for material movement
• Operate forklift
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety programs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Mental Effort and Challenges:

• Manage shifting priorities and machine operations based on project needs
• Determine proper bend sequences and tooling to ensure accuracy

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of metal fabrication experience
• Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and protractors; understanding decimal and fraction conversions
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Preferred: TIG Welding experience

Physical Requirements:

Work in a fabrication environment with typical hazards, noise exceeding 85 dB, and exposure to temperature extremes and fumes. Must stand constantly, walk regularly, and lift up to 50 lbs routinely, with assistance for heavier loads.
