Job summary

LiquidPiston Inc. seeks a Metal Additive Manufacturing Designer/Modeler in Bloomfield, CT. In this onsite role, you'll apply topology optimization and additive manufacturing methods to develop engine components while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of experience, including expertise in additive manufacturing and simulation. The position offers comprehensive healthcare and flexible PTO to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in product design, simulation, and/or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to work independently and solve complex, cross-disciplinary problems.

Responsibilities

• Apply topology optimization and additive manufacturing methods to design high-performance engine components.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate optimized parts into engine systems.
• Develop solid models tailored for AM processes.

Skills

Additive manufacturing methods (DMLS, SLS, Binder Jetting)

Topology optimization tools (nTop preferred)

Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks or equivalent)

Simulation experience with ANSYS

Deep understanding of materials science

Education

BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
