Qualifications

  • Metal AM experience required.
  • Experience with AM build file preparation.
  • Experience with generative design, topology optimisation and/or process simulation.
  • Manufacturing and CNC machining experience.
  • GD&T and inspection knowledge.
  • Strong mechanical engineering aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers and sales teams to understand technical requirements.
  • Develop proposals and technical solutions for customer applications.
  • Optimise component designs for printability, post-processing and performance.
  • Prepare build files and layouts for laser powder bed fusion equipment.
  • Develop support structures and machining plans.
  • Collaborate with CNC machining teams on additive, subtractive and hybrid projects.
  • Support manufacturing operations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce technical information for accurate project quotations.
  • Support process simulation, topology optimisation and generative design.
  • Drive improvements to engineering, quoting and manufacturing workflows.
  • Participate in technical problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Develop technical expertise and support the wider engineering organisation.

Our client is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join a world-class engineering team working at the forefront of aerospace and advanced manufacturing technology.

This role combines technical engineering, customer interaction and manufacturing expertise. You'll help turn customer concepts into production-ready solutions, optimising designs for additive manufacturing and supporting projects through development and low-rate production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with customers and sales teams to understand technical requirements
  • Develop proposals and technical solutions for customer applications
  • Optimise component designs for printability, post-processing and performance
  • Prepare build files and layouts for laser powder bed fusion equipment
  • Develop support structures and machining plans
