Precision Resource, Inc. in Shelton, CT seeks an Additive Manufacturing Programming & Process Engineer to connect digital build prep, LPBF, machining, and inspection to deliver production-ready metal parts.

You will develop build strategies, work with engineering, technicians, and customers to improve quality and cost, with CNC programming or machining experience preferred. Join a family-owned leader in precision metal components.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Hands-on LPBF build preparation experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD, drawings, GD&T, and revision-controlled documentation.
• CNC programming or machining experience; Mastercam a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review CAD models, drawings, and specs; define build requirements and risks.
• Configure and slice build jobs; optimize orientation, nesting, and supports.
• Develop laser vector/scan strategies; validate parameter changes for production.
• Use digital build simulation to assess thermal stress and deformation.
• Deliver verified build files, setup sheets, and work instructions; confirm readiness.
• Support first builds and production troubleshooting; drive yield and throughput improvements.
• Coordinate powder traceability, heat treatment, and finishing processes.
• Collaborate with quality on inspection plans and process qualification.
