Stony Brook University seeks a Cataloging/Metadata Analyst to support acquisition, description, discovery, preservation, and access of rare books, manuscripts, and other distinctive collections. Qualifications

• Master’s degree required with at least 3 years of full-time relevant experience in libraries or archives.
• Experience in metadata creation, cataloging, and metadata management in academic or similar settings.
• Familiarity with library/archives management systems and digital repository platforms.

Responsabilités

• Create, edit, and maintain original and enhanced catalog records and authority work.
• Apply metadata and archival description standards to ensure discovery and preservation.
• Collaborate across departments on cataloging, preservation, digitization, and access initiatives.
• Provide reference and research support to faculty, students, and researchers.
• Contribute to public services, exhibitions, and community outreach related to Special Collections.
