Job summary
The University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC) is seeking a talented scientist to support the Metabolomics Platform. You will perform day-to-day LC-MS operations, data processing, and method development to advance metabolomics and lipidomics projects in a collaborative core facility.
Under the Metabolomics Platform Director, you will contribute to instrument maintenance, quality control, and interpretation of complex datasets, interfacing with investigators, students and research
Qualifications
- PhD in related field (analytical chemistry, biochemistry, metabolomics, lipidomics, or mass spectrometry).
- Experience with LC-MS sample preparation and high-resolution MS instrumentation.
- Knowledge of metabolomics and lipidomics data-processing software.
Responsibilities
- Operate high-resolution LC-MS instruments and associated chromatography systems.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative metabolite/lipid analysis using specialized software.
- Process LC-MS data including peak detection, annotation, normalization and QC.
- Develop, validate and optimize metabolomics methods and workflows.
- Collaborate with investigators and platform users; contribute to publication-quality figures and reports.
- Maintain detailed documentation and organize sample records.
