Job summary

University of Michigan invites applications for an entry-level technician to join the NIH-sponsored Animal Phenotyping Core within the Michigan Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center (MMPC-Live). The role involves in-vivo and in-vitro experiments with rodent models to study metabolism and behavior, under guidance from the lab manager and senior staff.

Qualifications include a BS degree, strong English communication, and weekend availability on occasion.

Qualifications

• BS degree is required.
• Strong work ethic with excellent English communication, both oral and written.
• Able to work on weekends on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Carry out in-vivo and in-vitro physiology/pharmacology experiments in rodent models of metabolic disorders.
• Assess whole-body glucose and lipid metabolism using labeled tracers and perform behavioral tests.
• Support day-to-day housekeeping, experiment scheduling, and maintenance records in the lab.
