Job summary

CSU, Chico Research Foundation seeks a MESA Engineering Program Advisor to support low-income and first-generation students within the College of Engineering, CS, and Construction Management. You will mentor students, coordinate recruitment and retention efforts, and help create success plans in a collaborative, multi-ethnic environment.

The full-time, benefited, hourly, non-exempt role is based at Chico State Campus with partial telecommuting available; a background check is required and

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college with a relevant degree.
• Professional experience in advising and student recruitment is preferred.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities; write reports; work in a multiethnic environment.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach students in one-on-one and group settings.
• Develop student success plans and orientations; outreach to increase participation.
• Coordinate professional development activities (mock interviews, resume workshops, work plans).
• Collaborate with faculty and organize campus events and campaigns to benefit students.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering/CS/construction management/related STEM field

Experience in advising or student recruitment

Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate activities

Report writing and multiethnic collaboration
