Job summary
North Point Technology is seeking an experienced MES Controls Engineer to support high-volume discrete manufacturing. This role focuses on MES, PLC integration, real-time production execution, and automation system reliability.
You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and production teams to optimize MES-driven processes, perform integrations, maintain MES-to-PLC communications, and ensure accurate production reporting and data integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms.
- Strong PLC programming, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience in manufacturing automation and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of plant-floor networking and IPC protocols.
Responsibilities
- Support MES-to-PLC integrations during launches and production ramp-ups.
- Configure and maintain MES to PLC communications.
- Develop PLC tags and logic to support MES transactions.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and industrial network issues affecting MES.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers and MES teams to optimize processes.
- Document MES modifications and production support activities.
- Assist with audits and root-cause analysis for manufacturing data requests.
- Maintain production data, part numbers, and product structures in MES.
- Assist with MES upgrades, system upgrades, and new production rollouts.
