SHR Talent is partnering with a large, highly complex healthcare organization in its search for a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst. This position will join a growing Corporate Development team responsible for evaluating and executing strategic growth initiatives across a diverse healthcare platform.
The Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst will provide financial, valuation, and transaction support throughout the full M&A lifecycle, with significant emphasis on financial modeling and quantitative analysis. The position will gain exposure to a variety of transactions and strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, de novo growth opportunities, joint ventures, partnerships, divestitures, and other investments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically strong finance professional coming from investment banking, transaction advisory, valuation, corporate development, or a similar transaction-focused environment who wants broad deal exposure within a large organization. The Corporate Development team operates with a lean, collaborative structure, providing team members with exposure to senior leadership and opportunities to expand their responsibilities as the function continues to grow.
Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. The strongest consideration will be given to candidates with exceptional financial modeling skills and demonstrated hands-on transaction experience.
Responsibilities
- Build, analyze, and stress-test complex financial and valuation models used to evaluate acquisitions and strategic growth opportunities
- Perform enterprise valuation and financial analysis utilizing methodologies including DCF, three-statement, transaction, and other financial models
- Support transactions throughout the M&A lifecycle, including initial evaluation, financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, transaction execution, and post-close transition and integration planning
- Evaluate strategic initiatives including acquisitions, de novo opportunities, joint ventures, partnerships, divestitures, and other investments
- Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis to support transaction recommendations and strategic decision-making
- Review and contribute to transaction documents in partnership with senior Corporate Development team members, legal counsel, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams throughout financial diligence and transaction execution
- Prepare transaction analyses, presentations, and other deliverables for executive leadership and key internal and external stakeholders
- Work across multiple healthcare asset classes and transaction structures while developing a broad understanding of the organization's growth strategy
- Support efforts to bring additional valuation and transaction analysis capabilities in-house
- Maintain strong working relationships across a large, matrixed organization and contribute to a highly collaborative Corporate Development team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
- 3+ years of professional experience in investment banking, mergers & acquisitions, corporate development, transaction advisory, valuation, strategic finance, or a related transaction-focused environment
- Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting M&A transactions and enterprise valuation
- Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to independently build, analyze, stress-test, and interpret complex models
- Experience with DCF, three-statement, transaction, merger, LBO, and/or comparable valuation methodologies
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation principles, and transaction economics
- Ability to clearly communicate complex financial analysis to senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate effectively within a lean, highly collaborative team and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Experience
- Investment banking, Big Four transaction advisory/deals, valuation, corporate development, private equity-backed, or strategic advisory experience
- Experience working within a large, complex organization
- Understanding of healthcare industry dynamics, including provider and payer environments
- Experience preparing executive- or board-level transaction materials
- Exposure to transaction integration and post-close transition activities
