Job summary

KeyCorp in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a Merchant Sales Advisor to grow client relationships and advise on payment and card processing solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.

You will prospect, present and sell merchant payment processing and related hardware/software, and collaborate with bank partners to deliver tailored merchant services. A Bachelor's degree and payments experience are required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (required).
• A minimum of 1 year of payments related experience in a banking environment (required).
• A minimum of 1 year of success in a client focused environment with aggressive growth and service goals (required).
• Bilingual candidates are preferred to support our diverse customer base; Spanish language proficiency is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Acquire new merchant services relationships through prospecting external sources within the sales representative’s assigned territory, as well as through referrals from client-focused teams.
• Consult with prospective businesses in identifying the proper payment solution to meet the business needs; present and sell merchant payment processing including credit card, check processing, gift cards, ACH, and the corresponding hardware and software products with small and medium-sized businesses.
• Identify merchants’ other banking needs and work with available KeyBank resources to deliver solutions that meet those needs.
• Prospect small and medium-sized businesses in the sales representative’s assigned region to supplement bank referrals.
• Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
