Job summary

City Bank is seeking a Merchant Services Consultant in the Operations Center in Lubbock, Texas. This full-time sales role focuses on developing marketing plans, client calling, and selling Merchant Services products to Commercial Real Estate and mid-market clients.

You will partner with Commercial Lenders, Treasury Solutions, and branch teams to identify opportunities, present proposals, and manage the end-to-end sales cycle while maintaining relationships with vendors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Commercial Lenders, Treasury Solutions Consultant, and Branch teammates to uncover and help clients with Merchant Service solutions; execute on annual sales plan for banker portfolios.
• Develop new Merchant Services business by analyzing market research and client data for cross-sell opportunities.
• Prepares and presents comprehensive sales proposals and demos with strong attention to detail.
• Lead product training for various audiences and integrate pre-call and post-call steps in sales process.
• Utilize CRM to track opportunity pipeline, notes, and closes.
• Manage all elements of the Merchant Services sales cycle from qualification to close.
• Build and maintain business relationships with Merchant Service vendors and internal teams to onboard services smoothly.
• Prepare pricing proformas and sales proposals; maintain consultative client relationships to grow the portfolio.

Job Details: Job Location: Operations Center - Lubbock, TX 79407, Position Type: Full Time, The Merchant Services Consultant position is a sales role responsible to develop marketing plans, customer calling, and sales of Merchant Service products targeted toward Commercial Real Estate, Commercial & Lower Middle Market segmented companies.

Essential Duties:

• Partners with Commercial Lenders, Treasury Solutions Consultant, and Branch teammates to uncover and help clients with Merchant Service solutions to both clients and prospects. Will help to develop/execute on annual sales plan for each banker’s portfolio; joint calling, relationship planning, market events (as applicable).
• Develops new Merchant Services business by analyzing market research data and current customer data from internal systems for cross sell opportunities.
• Prepares and presents comprehensive sales proposals and presentations/demos to clients with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Participating and leading product training for various audiences.
• Pre-call and post call imbedded in sales process
• Utilizes CRM Platform to track opportunity pipeline with notes, closed sales, and archiving of client & prospect interactions.
• Manages all elements of the Merchant Services sales cycle to include business development, prospect qualification, needs analysis, and close.
• Responsible for business relationship management of all Merchant Service products. Works closely with Merchant Service Vendors & City Bank Payments Analyst to implement new services and resolve any onboarding issues.
• Partners with Treasury Consultant sales team to uncover Merchant Service opportunities and effectively communicates for a smooth transition.
• Partners and supports identification of product improvements/solutions and communicating same to Sales Leader and Merchant Service vendor partners.
• Prepares Pricing Proforma and sales proposals after detailed needs assessment. Consultative sales approach is critical to selling the value of a relationship with the bank. Maintains strong consultative relationship with clients, particular emphasis on key client base to ensure the growth of the Merchant Services portfolio of the bank.
• Completes annual trainings as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of risk as it relates to the job function.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
