Family Dollar is seeking an Associate Merchant to support the Category Director and Merchants in all merchandising processes across channels. You will assist with assortment development, execution of merchandising strategy, and creating marketing copy for Category products.

The role emphasizes vendor evaluation, cost negotiations, and participation in weekly/monthly financial reviews. A Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of buying experience are required for this onsite position in Chesapeake, VA.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1–3 years of related Merchandise/Buying experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Spreadsheet and word processing skills.

Responsabilidades

• Support Category Director and Merchants across merchandising processes for all channels.
• Assist with assortment development and execution of merchandising strategy.
• Develop copy and text for marketing for Category products.
• Input to promotional planning and plan-o-guides for their Category.
• Contribute to Weekly Business Reviews and Monthly P&L analysis for their Category.
• Evaluate vendor performance and support sourcing decisions.
• Assist in cost negotiations and overseas buying preparations.
