Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Associate Merchant in Chesapeake, VA to support the Category Director and Merchants in merchandising processes across channels. You will assist with assortment development, strategy execution, and promotional planning, driving category growth and ensuring product representation.

The role emphasizes strong communication, analytics, and collaboration to build effective vendor relationships and impactful product assortments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–3 years of related Merchandise/Buying experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Spreadsheet and word processing skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Able to work independently.
• Creativity.
• Ability to build strong relationships and work well within a team.

Responsibilities

• Support Category Director and Category Merchants in merchandising processes for all channels.
• Assist with assortment development and execution of merchandising strategy.
• Develop copy and text in support of Marketing for Category products.
• Input to weekly business reviews and monthly P&L for the category.
• Evaluate vendor performance and support cost negotiations.
• Identify new sources of supply and assist in overseas buying trips.
