Job summary

belk is seeking a Merchandising Team Manager to lead a team responsible for store operations, merchandising, and facilities to deliver an excellent customer experience and drive sales. You will oversee inbound/outbound deliveries, replenishment, inventory, and store fulfilment while collaborating with visual and selling teams to maintain planograms and pricing standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to apply analytics and judgement to drive business, people, and profitability decisions.
• Experience leading teams in retail merchandising or store operations.
• Proven ability to train and develop associates through coaching and mentorship.
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Comfort with technology and Windows-based systems.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team in back-of-house operations including receiving, inbound/outbound deliveries, and store fulfillment.
• Direct front-of-house operations: product placement, floor sets, replenishment, pricing, promotions, and customer service.
• Collaborate with selling and visual teams to maintain merchandising directives and planograms.
• Plan weekly leadership workload and coordinate forecasted receipts and labor hours.
• Provide ongoing coaching to improve performance and discuss development with team members.
• Foster retention and engagement through recognizing contributions and celebrating achievements.
• Support recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding to maintain bench strength.
• Ensure asset protection, inventory accuracy, and safety protocols are followed.
