Job summary

Randa Apparel & Accessories (RAA) invites applications for a Merchandising Intern in Chicago. This 10-week, in-house program supports the Design & Merchandising teams and exposes interns to retail and wholesale fundamentals.

You will assist with seasonal product development, analyze reports, and help prepare line sheets, samples, and PLM entries. On-site schedule runs Monday–Thursday, with Friday partial hours; paid at $20/hour.

Qualifications

• Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Marketing/Business majors a plus.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
• Must be available to work on-site, Monday through Friday.
• Able to commit to the full duration of the internship program (10 weeks).
• Thrives in collaborative settings and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and merchandising teams to develop the seasonal product line that addresses customer needs and specific brand visions.
• Reviewing selling reports and shopping the competitive retail landscape to identify white space opportunities and bring new product ideas to fruition.
• Assisting with/ line sheet and sample preparation for customer and licensor meetings.
• Entering specs into our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System to keep track of samples, costing, and adoption of new styles.
• Checking in and organizing development samples from the factories.
• Working with/ International suppliers directly through daily email communication.

Project

Interns will be assigned a group project and a mentor to help provide coaching & support throughout the project. The project will be presented in the final week to various leaders within the organization. The goal is to research and present a solution or recommendation based on white space within the company. This will give interns an opportunity to work with cross-functional departments and individuals across our multiple locations to put together a solution to create a positive change.
