Job summary

Randa Apparel & Accessories (RAA) is seeking a Merchandising Intern to join our New York team for a 10-week, on-site internship. You will collaborate with design and merchandising to shape seasonal product lines, review reports, and assist with line sheets and samples.

You will gain hands-on PLM experience, costing input, and interaction with international suppliers. The program emphasizes mentorship and cross-functional exposure across locations, culminating in a final presentation to leaders.

Qualifications

• Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Marketing/Business majors a plus.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
• Must be available to work on-site, Monday through Friday.
• Able to commit to the full duration of the internship program (10 weeks).
• Thrives in collaborative settings and understands the value of cross-functional alignment.
• Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward learning and problem-solving.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
• Looking to gain hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and merchandising teams to develop the seasonal product line that addresses customer needs and specific brand visions.
• Review selling reports and landscape to identify opportunities and propose new product ideas.
• Assisting with line sheet and sample preparation for customer and licensor meetings.
• Entering specs into our PLM System to track samples, costing, and adoption of new styles.
• Checking in and organizing development samples from factories.
• Working with International suppliers directly through daily email communication.

Merchandising Intern Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and merchandising teams to develop the seasonal product line that addresses customer needs and specific brand visions.
• Reviewing selling reports and shopping the competitive retail landscape to identify white space opportunities and bring new product ideas to fruition.
• Assisting with/ line sheet and sample preparation for customer and licensor meetings
• Entering specs into our Product Lifestyle Management (PLM) System to keep track of samples, costing, and adoption of new styles.
• Checking in and organizing development samples from the factories
• Working with/ International suppliers directly through daily email communication

Project

Interns will be assigned a group project and a mentor to help provide coaching & support throughout the project. The project will be presented in the final week to various leaders within the organization. The goal is to research and presents a solution or recommendation based on white space within the company. This will give interns an opportunity to work with cross-functional departments and individuals across our multiple locations to put together a solution to create a positive change.
