Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. in Poteau, OK is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and driving merchandising and freight processing.

You will oversee daily store operations, maintain store appearance and safety, manage stock, and ensure a positive customer experience while upholding company policies. The role requires retail leadership, solid communication, and physical capacity, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store and restock bathrooms as needed
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards
• Stock merchandise needs including frozen & refrigerated items
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-friendly
• Plan and merchandise monthly Sales Planners
