Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Columbus, OH is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to partner with the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and delivering positive community experiences. You’ll focus on merchandising, processing freight, and daily store operations to drive sales and efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings retail and management experience, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This is a full-time, at-will position.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform related physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates
• Other duties as assigned
• Process receipts/returns of DSD merchandise
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards
• Order and stock merchandise including frozen & refrigerated items
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective
• Plan and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales items
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners
