Job summary

Claire’s is seeking a Buying Intern for Summer 2027. This role offers hands-on exposure to merchandising, trend identification, and product movement from idea to customer. You’ll work with our merchandising teams to learn how products are developed and brought to customers around the world.

You’ll gain experience collaborating with Planning, Design, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams while supporting product and assortment activities and competitive research.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Retail, Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
• Interest in retail, fashion, trends, and consumer products.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with data and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may evolve.

Responsibilities

• Support the Buying team with product and assortment activities.
• Review sales and product performance to identify trends and opportunities.
• Conduct competitive, market, and trend research.
• Assist with preparation for assortment reviews and other merchandising meetings.
• Learn how buyers make decisions related to product, pricing, assortment, and inventory.
• Partner with Planning, Design, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
• Support special projects and business priorities.
• Gain exposure to the end-to-end retail merchandising process.
