Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to partner with the Store Manager, lead a dynamic team of associates, and drive merchandising and freight processing to deliver value for communities served.

You will oversee opening and closing tasks, safeguard assets, maintain stockrooms and sales floors to brand standards, and execute corporate directives while ensuring a positive, safe customer experience.

Qualifications

• Retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day‑to‑day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store and restock as needed.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen & refrigerated, per standards.
• Ensure sales floor is sales‑effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales‑effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
