Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to partner with the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and focusing on merchandising and processing freight. You will assist with daily store functions, open/close procedures, protect assets, and maintain high standards for shop floor and backroom areas.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, safety, and teamwork while following corporate directives and maintaining clean, organized spaces.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks as described.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness and ensure a neat, presentable environment.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
