Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to work with the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities we serve. In this role, you’ll focus on merchandising and processing freight.

You will assist with all store functions, perform opening/closing procedures, protect assets, maintain cleanliness, and ensure a safe, respectful environment while delivering great customer service.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and meet physical demands.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness and presentability including bathrooms.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with customers and staff.
• Assist Store Manager with assigned duties.
• Process receipt/return of DSD merchandise and manage freight flow.
• Stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective and merchandised.
• Plan and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with active items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
