Merchandiser Manager – Auburn, WA at Dietz & Watson
This position is responsible for hiring, training, leading and managing the assigned team of merchandisers to maintain presentation standards for all Dietz & Watson products in accordance with mutually agreed upon customer standards.
It also coordinates, schedules and communicates support activities for the merchandising team to achieve budgeted sales and profit objectives including store sets, demo/sampling activities, deli associate training and merchandising tasks to help customer goals and objectives.
The role is also responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with retailer's key deli contacts at the multi‑unit level, mentoring sales merchandisers to promote Dietz & Watson, and developing deli associates that become advocates for the brand.
The Merchandiser Manager works with Human Resources and Sales Management to interview and hire candidates, ensuring fully staffed teams according to approved organizational charts. The manager conducts resume reviews, selection, initial phone screenings and in‑person interviews.
They coordinate all onboarding procedures with HR and company representatives to ensure that new employees receive the necessary training and equipment, including product knowledge, company procedures and standards.
As part of the sales management team, the manager supports achievement of company sales and profit objectives. They schedule merchandisers, train, evaluate, and mentor employees for positive and sustainable performance. The manager communicates opportunities and successes observed in the field and recommends ongoing improvements in all facets and activities to support sales and profit objectives.
