Job summary

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in Chico, CA is seeking a Merchandiser to support the Chico Route sales team. You will ensure SNBC products are fresh, within code, and well-represented at local retail accounts.

Duties include inventory checks, restocking shelves/coolers, and updating POS. This role offers $18.08 to $27.93 hourly, with a 10% 401(k) match, medical/dental/vision insurance, onsite clinic, mental health benefits, paid sick leave, and generous paid time off.

Qualifications

• 6 months of related experience in distribution/warehouse or similar.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs regularly and up to 180 lbs for keg handling.
• Strong math and reasoning skills; effective communication; team-oriented yet able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform inventory checks at local retail accounts, rotate stock, restock shelves/coolers and build displays.
• Provide excellent customer service to local retail accounts and on-site customers.
• Drive to local Chico accounts daily.
• Handle call-in requests from local accounts and on-site customers.
• Update national program POS and assist sales reps with account breakage.

Get to Know This Role

The Merchandiser supports our Chico Route sales team, partnering with route drivers and sales reps to ensure SNBC products are fresh and within code, and well‑represented at local retail accounts in the Chico area. Key duties include inventory checks, stock rotation, restocking shelves/coolers and building/restocking displays, and updating current POS at local retail accounts. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing strong relationships in the market and promoting SNBC brands while providing best in class service. This role is an excellent opportunity to start in the beer industry and can lead to further advancement opportunities within the Chico Route sales and delivery team.

What You Will Do

• Perform inventory checks at local retail accounts to include: rotation of stock, restocking of shelves/coolers and building/restocking displays
• Provide excellent customer service to local retail accounts and on‑site customers
• Drive to local retail accounts within the city of Chico on a daily basis
• Answer and respond to call‑in requests from local retail accounts and on‑site customers
• Update all national program POS and help assist sales rep to repack account breakage
• Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor, co‑workers and other departments on work‑related issues in a timely manner

Please Apply if You Have

• A High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Prior customer service experience in solving customer issues/problem solving preferred
• 6 months of related experience (ie working in a distribution warehouse environment, roofer, farmhand, grocery, construction, or other positions which require continuous heavy lifting and dealing with varying temperatures preferred
• Superior work ethic
• Effective communication skills are a must
• Must have a proficient level of math and reasoning skills
• Team oriented but also able to work independently, with little supervision
• Must be able to work safely while performing quality work under tight timelines
• Must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 180 lbs. when handling keg products
• This position must pass a post‑offer background and drug test
• Driver's License free of any major violations in the last three years upon hire required

Additional Requirements to Consider Before Applying

Candidate must be able to work 4 AM - 12:30 PM, Friday - Tuesday (Wednesday & Thursday off)
