About the Role

As a Merchandise Specialist, you will partner with Procurement to shape the overall strategy for assigned product categories, driving sales and exceeding financial targets. You'll be responsible for delivering new product solutions, optimizing assortments, and maintaining a competitive edge across all product lines. This role offers the chance to make a direct impact by leveraging your expertise in category management and collaboration with sourcing and buying teams.

What You'll Do

• Drive sales, margin, and growth for assigned product categories.


• Execute strategic, customer-centric visions to achieve sales and profit objectives.


• Develop assortment plans and implement allocation strategies for optimal inventory management.


• Analyze category performance, identify white space opportunities, and recommend assortment edits.


• Partner with Merchants, Vendors, Sourcing, and Buying to align strategies with channel needs.


• Conduct competitor analyses and monitor market trends to inform pricing and product development.


• Prepare SKU/Class plans by channel and execute fulfillment strategies.


• Adhere to deadlines and manage merchandise placement to maximize sales and profit.


• Utilize retail math to analyze sales data and make informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.


• 2+ years of experience in product management, category management, merchandising, buying, or planning.


• Proficiency in MS Office/Google Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets; Looker experience is a plus.


• Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven recommendations.


• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently.


• Effective communicator with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.


• Knowledge of multi-level distribution networks and experience with confidential data preferred.


• Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%.

Work Environment

• This is an office-based role requiring regular use of a computer and other office equipment.


• The environment is quiet, and physical demands are minimal.
