Job summary

Goodwill-of-Greater-Washington- in Dale City, VA is seeking a motivated team member to support inventory management and merchandise preparation for display and sale. You will transfer donated items, assess quality, and organize merchandise for the floor while maintaining security and safety standards.

The role emphasizes accuracy in logging items, meeting daily quotas, and delivering friendly donor and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours - per 8 hour shift).
• Ability to lift max of 25 lbs pounds frequently.
• Six months of previous work experience (preferred).
• Warehouse environment experience (preferred).
• Basic computer skills (preferred).
• Multilingual with proficiency in English (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Transfers merchandise from containers to determine appropriateness for the sales floor.
• Stays abreast of brand name, designer labels, current and vintage styles.
• Prepare items for the sales floor. Evaluate items for quality, pricing, salability.
• Counts number of items processed and records on official log.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories according to quota.
• Places items on hangers and transports to the sales floor.
• Counts pieces of clothing and records on Daily Hanger Report.
• Follows safety and security practices and reports hazards.
• Maintains productivity quotas for pieces processed.
• Provides excellent service to donors and retail customers.
