Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center, Inc. in Independence, KY is seeking a Retail Merchandise Processor to support production and retail teams in a fast-paced environment. You will receive, sort, price, process, and prepare donated merchandise for display on the sales floor.

Responsibilities include stocking, recording donations, maintaining boutique/sellable/salvage categories, and providing friendly customer service to donors and customers while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• At least six months of previous work experience or equivalent education.
• Must follow directions and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to problem-solve and provide friendly customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage donors and customers.

Responsibilities

• Sort and process merchandise for the sales floor according to guidelines.
• Stock the sales floor with rolled merchandise.
• Record and monitor donations accurately and timely.
• Stay aware of brand labels and current fashion trends.
• Categorize apparel into boutique, sellable, and salvage.
• Place items on hangers and transport to the sales floor in organized groups.
• Maintain daily quota for pieces processed.
• Price and roll merchandise to appropriate areas on the floor.
• Follow safety and security practices; report hazards.
• Provide exceptional service to donors and customers.
• Attend store meetings and trainings as required.
• Adhere to supervisor schedules and maintain a clean workspace.
• Present a professional appearance per Goodwill standards.
• Communicate Goodwill’s mission to donors and customers.
• Cross-train in other store areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
