Job description

The Opportunity

Do you enjoy planning things ahead of time and considering all factors that could improve your decision-making? Look no further because HSN is hiring for a Merchandise Planner to support the Home division.

The planner will report to the Manager of Merchandise Planning and transform sales and manage overall inventory. The planner works with their buying partners to plan the future assortment, while also managing the existing product. You will also partner with fellow Planners to propel sales at HSN. The Planner will analyze results to decide next actions and make observations around overall trends of a business. Factors such as customer experience, margin, current events, return rates and new names will be considered and discussed as it relates to the business. You will work as a hybrid option. Majority of the time is spent working remotely and 3-4 times per month is spent in office. We offer great flexibility and support our team members with work life balances.

Your Impact

  • Prioritize on-air sales and productivity maximization.
  • Script assigned shows for all channels according to scripting guidelines, basing decisions around productivity guidelines and decision tree thinking.
  • Work with planning partners across all channels.
  • Strategize items to maximize selling exposures, including identification and execution of reorders encouraging the future development of the item as a part of the actions taken.
  • Participate in seasonal planning, quarterly planning and assortment planning for assigned categories.
  • Identify and react to promotional opportunities including Flex Pay usage, Shipping & Handling discounts, and Sale pricing discounts.
  • Price product, manage markdowns and manage category margin to the assigned goal.
  • Analyze show/item performance and recommend/initiate next actions.
  • Monitor and advise on programming adjustments across all channels based on sales results and trends.
  • Manage overall inventory level to assigned goal.
  • Manage distressed inventory level to assigned goal.
  • Plan promotions to support the on-air & off-air business.
  • Build batch jobs for planned promotions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Marketing analytics, Merchandising, Business, or relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of Merchandise Planner, Allocation or Inventory Analytics experience.
  • You love working with data and have knowledge of the retail industry to develop ideas, build strategies and achieve the needed results for the assigned category of business.
  • You are comfortable living a commutable distance from the West Chester QVC Group office and are open to coming into the office for a hybrid schedule of 4 days per month.
