Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking an on-site Warehouse/Retail Associate to support inventory management and merchandise processing in a fast-paced environment. You will sort, prepare, price, and display donated items for sale, and assist donors and customers with friendly service.

The role requires basic math, good communication, and physical stamina to stand, lift, and move items throughout shifts. Prior retail or warehouse experience is helpful but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, and climb for extended periods (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Transfers merchandise from containers to determine appropriateness for the sales floor in accordance with established guidelines.
• Stays abreast of brand name, designer labels, current and vintage styles.
• Prepare items for the sales floor. Evaluate items to determine quality, pricing, value and salability.
• Counts number of items processed and records on official log.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories according to quota.
• Places items on hangers, places hangers on rolling rack, and transports them to the sales floor keeping similar items grouped.
