Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a dedicated store associate to support inventory management and merchandising in a fast-paced environment. You will sort, process, and prepare donated items for sale, ensuring items are clean, priced, and displayed for customers.

Role requires basic math, clear communication, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Prior retail or warehouse experience is a plus; same-day pay and employee benefits are highlighted in the team package.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Multilingual with proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Transfer merchandise from containers to determine suitability for the sales floor.
• Stay aware of brand names and current styles for pricing and display.
• Prepare items for the sales floor and evaluate quality and salability.
• Count items processed and record on the official log.
• Sort apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories.
• Hang items on hangers and transport to the sales floor with grouped items.
• Count clothing pieces and log in the Daily Hanger Report.
• Place non-sellable merchandise in the appropriate container.
• Follow safety practices and report hazards or injuries.
• Maintain productivity and a neat uniform appearance.
• Assist in collection and stocking of donated merchandise.
• Provide excellent service to donors and customers.
• Perform other duties as directed.
